In 2015 and 2016, Transnational Dialogues has partnered with the project “Hack (y)our Borders” run by the NGO European Alternatives in partnership with Laimikis (Vilnius), radarq (Barcelona), Dcalk (Paris/Bruxelles) and Migrant Rights Network (London), with the support of the European Cultural Foundation. The project focuses on fostering people’s capabilities of re-shaping borders and redrawing the social and cultural maps of how they live in cities in order to fight against marginalization in the public space.

On June 13-14 a two-day workshop will take place with participants coming from all over Europe, Brazil and China in order to elaborate a shared and shareable design for urban furniture that helps to break boundaries instead of reinforcing the existing social and spatial discrimination that shapes global cities around the world. The workshop will be preceded and followed by a programme of informal meetings and preparation, guided by the “Hack (y)our Borders!” team. You can download here a brief outline of the “Hack (y)our Borders!” project.

Please send an up-to-date CV and/or portfolio and a motivation letter (max 500 words) by Wednesday 15 April (midnight in your country) to td@euroalter.com. Should you need any additional information, do not hesitate to get in touch with the email address provided above. For any communication, please use the subject line: “Hack Your Borders London”. Please, apply only if strongly motivated and in possession of the required characteristics. Late applications might still be taken into consideration, but we strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible.

This open call is part par of the new programme of Transnational Dialogues for the year 2015 and 2016. More open calls will be launched in the coming months and published on this website and on the project Facebook page.
