S.a.L.E. Docks – Venice, 7 May 2015

The videos of the speeches (in English) are now online!

In the opening days of the 56th Venice Biennale, Transnational Dialogues is participating in AB-STRIKE. This platform of events, set up by S.a.L.E. Docks and MACAO and taking place from from 1 to 8 May 2015 in Milan and Venice, is a practice of subversive imagination, a laboratory of commons, a hotbed of actions, artworks, talents and debates.

In particular, Transnational Dialogues will join the round-table “Let’s Strike! Towards an inter-continental platform for art and cultural workers”, which brings together different perspectives on the issue of artists and cultural workers organisations, from the U.S. to Northern and Mediterranean Europe. Some of the issues that will be addressed are the effect of debt over the life of the artist, the necessity of inventing new models of production and forms of life against the neoliberal frame, the role of multinational art brands in the new global division of labour or the need for new methods of struggle and networking to go beyond the capturing devices of art institutions and creative industries.
